Aside from the Vatican declaring neutrality, closing its curtains and ignoring what happened on its own front porch during the holocaust this forgiveness of denial is the next best thing. Well, not all denial, they did say maybe only six hundred thousand or so where killed and that was not even in the ovens. Besides it was probably the Jews own fault. They said or did the wrong thing. Just like the only people too stupid to get out of jury duty will become jurors the Jews too stupid to avoid the Nazi’s get roasted. So that’s okay, the Vatican will forgive those who think this.
It is a difficult place the Pope has got himself. On one hand he has this insane denial to deal with. Which, in my opinion, does not even deserve to be considered; the holocaust is fact, and it’s a grievous sin to even suggest otherwise. But on the other hand the Pope and the church, according to doctrine, must forgive the truly repentant. Maybe Hitler repented at the last second and those of us that are fortunate enough to make it to heaven will find that S.O.B. there. God would that piss me off. Maybe this Bishop has a new leaf. Would not all the faithful be obliged to forgive this man?
Pope “Oh, Lord what do I do? I have angered the masses against your house.” God “Pope, dude, you really screwed up, if you wanna forgive people and all that’s great but don’t go blabbing all over town. I thought I gave you some wisdom. Yeah, here it is, right here, wisdom with a check mark. I should’a made sure to take care of that mouth of yours while I was at it. We’ll you head on, I can’t help you, you stuck your foot in it this time, dang maybe I should of picked up the option on that other guy..sweet Jesus you just can’t find good help anymore.
